My advice to you is to write from the heart. If you have a desire or a passion for writing, then I think that is all you really need. Do not get discouraged. I did not take any classes. I just write from the heart. When I completed my manuscript. I asked a teacher, preacher, a school counselor and a few of my close friends and family to read it. I asked them to be honest about their opinion. I also asked my close friend with kids to read the story to them. I wanted to see if it kept their interest. I heard from everyone that I should publish. I decided to self publish and I'm really glad that I did. Push forward Manda. I am looking forward to reading your first book! I am a proud mother of 3 little girls and I am an aspiring children's author. I have conceived a few book ideas, but since I have never written anything before...well, I guess I'm kinda feeling like Ima Nobody! All these ideas swirl in my head with absolutely no direction, and I'm beginning to lack the confidence to fulfill these goals of bringing my characters to life. Any words of wisdom or advice would be greatly appreciated...just wondering if I should take a workshop of maybe even take a class, its been years since I graduated from Texas Tech, I've opted to stay home with my girls, but there is only so much spongebob squarepants an adult mind can consume before your brain slowly begins to ooze out of your ear...LOL!!!
